Room 17 MVS 2019

Here is another collaborative art piece by the students of Room 17. They are so proud of this one compared to their first attempt.

This week we are focusing on our Goals for the Student Led Conferences this Thursday. The students have updated their last goals & identified new ones to share with their family this week. Some of the goals will be whole class or groups of students will be working on generic goals to help each other through the process of achieving their goals.

The Cultural Iceberg This week we looked at the Cultural Iceberg as part of our Celebrating our Cultures. What does this mean? The external, or conscious, part of culture is what we can see and is the tip of the iceberg and includes behaviors and some beliefs. The internal, or subconscious, part of culture is below the surface of a society and includes some beliefs and the values and thought patterns that underlie behavior.

Hello everyone I hope you've all had a lovely break and your child is ready to start some new learning? Just a reminder that many of the students require more stationery, especially glue sticks, rulers and red pens. I'm sure these grow legs and move to another classroom? I will send out a notice with your child should they require new stationery. I am looking forward to meeting you all again at our Student Led Conference on August 8th. Mrs Sutton
